Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a Cloud Security Posture Management and Workload Protection Platform. Covering workloads not only on-premises and Azure, but across all hyperscalers including Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.

To get started with Defender for Server, you can enable Defender for Cloud on your Azure subscription - which will report agentless (platform and network) level statistics and give you actionable next steps. You gain greater control by also using agent based protection for Virtual Machines.
